Job Risk Assessment Considerations

Job risk assessment in any industry causes stress and tension to rise. From senior leaders to the individuals who punch a timeclock daily, change that comes to a business can produce unease among workers.

When we implement post offer employment testing, we demonstrate to all involved how the Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) test benefits the entire business—both owners and their employees. Our ability to educate businesses about how our testing can prevent workplace injuries and mitigate unnecessary workers' compensation claim costs promotes understanding and increases employee morale.

Here is how.

Knowing you are being tested to perform in a job that will either a) be the right fit for you and allow you to do it safely or b) not cause you harm and is not an acceptable position for your abilities, is essential to your long-term health and well-being. Having the capacity to manually execute the tasks required of you with a lesser chance of harm is a benefit that will allow you to perform in the job you love safely, and at a high level, for many years.

Companies are facing significant economic challenges. Unemployment is low, which means fewer people are in need of work. Those in need of work still should be placed in positions that are safe and practical to their abilities. Job risk assessment is never to be an exception to this rule.

The Physical Capacity Profile is used as a post-offer employment test that measures one's physical abilities and provides numeric results that deliver validity of one's capabilities. Our testing is unlike that of other companies that use another person’s observation, instead of valid instruments, to determine ‘a pass or fail’ of movements. Our testing follows the guidelines of the American Medical Association (AMA), and are set to assist employers in following the Department of Labor’s Dictionary of Titles. Using valid measures that meet federal guidelines provide for less of a risk, which is why we have incorporated them into our proprietary testing. What data elements would you want to have backing you if you were to go to trial?

Our goal is to promote the highest of safety standards for all workers, allowing a business to increase its profit margins by decreasing workers’ compensation claims. The savings of less injuries and higher production are often disbursed to a company’s employees for their exemplary conduct and hard work.

Our affiliates have found that testing with us brings a higher return-on-investment (ROI) than they expected. With post offer employment testing you can be confident you will hire the right employee the first time. You can see our testimonials here .
