Is Your Company Successfully Integrating an Aging Workforce?
If not, you need to act now!

The ability for American businesses to attain the right employee the first time has never been greater. In fact, businesses are finding they are able to increase revenue, decrease workers’ compensation, and decrease insurance premiums even as the workforce increases in age.
The truth is, the American worker is living longer than ever before. Ensuring that older populations are able to perform the job level suitable to their physical ability is vital to organizational success, as well as worker longevity.
Are Your Older Employees at Risk?
Unless you perform post-offer testing, yes! (See graph below):

Post-offer testing is defined by Physical Capacity Profile (PCP)as a physical strength test determining one’s abilities of strength and fitness, allowing human resource and safety teams to discover the applicants physical capability.
How Do You Know Older Applicants are Able to Work in the Position They’re Being Offered?
The post-offer test provides a numeric value to be compared to a job description’s numeric value. Numeric values are determined by job assessments.
Job assessments are vital to knowing the strength needed for safety on the job. Upon completion, job assessments are then compared and collaborated with the Department of Labor’s 5 Levels of Work. Each job description receives a numeric value.
The valid numeric number from the testing is from the following Department of Labor 5 Levels of Work:
Level 1-Sedentary Work
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing.
Level 2-Light Work
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Required walking or standing to a significant degree; or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and or pulling of arm or leg controls.
Level 3-Medium Work
Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
Level 4-Heavy Work
Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
Level 5-Very Heavy Work
Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/ or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly.
Does Physical Capacity Profile Post-Offer Testing Really Provide Results?
Yes. Your HR department or Safety Team will have results in less than 2 minutes after the test is taken. (Example page 1 of 3 provided):

Specifically, if an applicant is applying for a level 3 job and they score a 4.7 on their testing, they are an employee that is more like to be safe on the job than an applicant who scored a 2.8.
